Since 1961, The British Heart Foundation has been working towards its vision of a world where people don’t die prematurely from heart disease. The charity is run by a group of medical professionals who provide extra funding and research into the prevention of heart related illnesses.
The British Heart Foundation has also sponsored a variety of different TV programmes aimed at encouraging people of the UK to eat healthily and exercise regularly. They also work on providing families with practical information that they can use at home and in their everyday lives. They are also involved in the anti-smoking campaign group Action on Smoking and Health.
In the UK, there are over 950 healthcare professionals that work for the British Heart Foundation and more than 3.2 million people have been trained in schools by Heartstart UK.
